The builder of a popular boat engine, BRP, earned recognition for their work to help sustain the environment.
Bombardier Recreational Products and Vehicles (BRP), builder of Evinrude boat engines, has been awarded the Best CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Practices Award by the Mexican Mexican Philanthropy Centre, Cemefi.
The award was given in recognition of the company’s manufacturing facility in Juarez, Mexico, and its dedication to environmentally friendly practices that are original and sustainable.
“Our team in Juárez has been determined to make a positive impact on the environment and community,” said Sylvain Blanchette, BRP’s vice-president of Operations, Mexico and Canada. “We’ve planted trees, sponsored local ecological projects, exchanged plastic bottles for an eco-friendly alternative, and much more – and we will continue to do so in the future.”
The company’s Green Race and Ecological Fair, held last year and this year, promoted environmental culture by collecting six tons of electronic waste and planting 2,000 new trees. In addition, the Juárez site initiated permanent activities, including a program to eliminate disposal waste in a more eco-friendly manner.
BRP also produces Ski-Doo and Lynx snowmobiles, Sea-Doo watercraft, Can-Am all-terrain and side-by-side vehicles, as well as engines for go-karts, small aircraft and more.
