Brad Pitt, the box office mega-star, has a great respect for guns.
Brad Pitt has stared in many roles as an action hero and anti-hero, but his handling of firearms is not just left to the blank firing movie guns on the set. When he is home with his wife, Angelina Jolie, and their children, he feels a gun in the house is necessary for protection, as reported by the Radio Times.
“There’s a rite of passage where I grew up of inheriting your ancestors’ weapons,” Pitt said, “My brother got my dad’s. I got my grandfather’s shotgun when I was kindergarten.” He was born in Oklahoma and later raised in Missouri.
Recently quoted in the Independent, Pitt went on to say “The positive is that my father instilled in me a profound and deep respect for the weapon.”

Pitt stars in the new box office hit “Fury” about a tank crew in the heat of battle in World War II.
In a 2012 interview, Brad was quoted as saying “America is a country founded on guns, it’s in our DNA.”
Sportsmen all over the world, including us, should commend Pitt for standing up for his Constitutional Rights and those of all Americans. Here’s hoping he never forgets his shooting roots.
