Boaters Rescue 40-Foot Humpback Whale off Scottish Coast

Rescuers off the coast of Scotland found themselves in an interesting situation recently.

One 40-foot humpback whale got caught in creel nets. Check out their “good deed.”

Creel fishing nets are not designed for animals this big, but recently fishermen caught more than they’d bargained for. Thankfully, they were able to get a giant 40-foot humpback whale loose.

As BBC News said, “At one point, rescuers used one of the ropes like a horses bridle to control the whale and save it from harm.”

This kind of intense rescue is best done with utmost care, and rescuers were able to slowly pull the ropes from around the whale’s body and free the massive creature.
