A young black bear made itself at home in a Colorado couples’ kitchen. It sure had an appetite!
A Conifer, Colorado couple recently awoke to a mess of a surprise – a young black bear had snuck into their home and ransacked the kitchen.
The bear gained entry through a partially-open window, tearing through the screen, and ultimately heading straight to the food.
A pair of shelves in both the fridge and freezer were emptied, the food consumed or strewn throughout the kitchen and in the backyard.
Gwynneth Mayeux explained that her and her husband slept through the entire break-in.
“The first thing I noticed was the smell, actually. It just smelled funny.”
Parks and Wildlife have set up a pepper spray trap in order to deter the bear if it shows up once again.
