College kids at Lehigh University got a hairy surprise guest at their rager this weekend.
A black bear sauntered in uninvited to a college party near Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on Saturday.
The bear weighed between 300 and 400 pounds and was tattooed indicating it was a bear originally tagged in New Jersey. That means it would have swam across the Delaware river just to go to this party.
Bethlehem police received a multitude of emergency calls around 2 a.m. on Saturday. The lost bear “lumbered close to the party and scared the living daylights out of people,” police Chief Mark DiLuzio said.
The bear was tranquilized and moved to a remote area a few hours away. Tyler Krieder, district officer of the Pennsylvania Game Commission, assured everyone that the “bear wasn’t any threat to anybody. It was just looking for somewhere to eat, take a break.”
Unfortunately the bear came back looking for more parties and was sighted again near the University. It has since been caught and is now doing fine in the custody of the game commission.
It is still being decided on what side of the Delaware River the party bear will be released.
