Huge Black Bear Falls From Tree in Front of Florida Home [VIDEO]

BEAR!

Last week, a 350-pound Florida black bear took a hard fall in front of a house in Panama City, Florida.

The huge black bear had wandered up a 30-foot tree in search of food. Police, firefighters and wildlife officers were dispatched to the scene to get the bear down, according to UPI.com.

Fire crews suspended a large rescue tarp underneath the bear to break his fall. That didn’t work out so great.  After being shot with a tranquilizer dart, the bear fell right through tarp and made a rough landing on the hard ground below.

Luckily, the bear was not injured.

Wildlife officers took the big bear to the Apalachicola National Forest and released him back into the wild.

Spring is the time of year when Florida black bears wake up from their long winter hibernation and search for food.

Last week, a Florida woman was attacked by a black bear that was looking for food in her garage. The woman survived, but sustained bite marks and claw wounds to her body. Since the attack, wildlife officers have killed at least four black bears in the area that have shown aggression towards humans.
