Learn this pet-friendly tick repellent:

  • 1 cup of water to a spray bottle
  • 2 cups of distilled white vinegar
  • two spoonfuls of vegetable or almond oil

To also repel fleas, mix in few spoonfuls of lemon juice, citrus, oil or peppermint oil.

  • Spray onto the your pet’s dry coat (be sure to stay away from sensitive areas like: eyes, nose, and mouth).

Learn a home remedy for the family:

  • 2 cups of distilled white vinegar
  • 1 cup of water
  • For scent, add 20 drops of your favorite essential oil.

Eucalyptus oil is a soothing scent that also work as a tick repellent. Peppermint and citrus oil also give a strong crisp scent that can deter ticks.

After mixing the solution, spray onto clothing, skin, and hair before heading out for outdoor activities. Be sure to reapply every four hours to keep ticks away. Once returning inside, be sure to check hair and skin for ticks.
