Squirrels can be delicious little creatures if you use this Crock-Pot squirrel recipe!
It’s cold outside, y’all. Put this delicious recipe in your Crock-Pot before you go to work tomorrow morning and when you return home, you’ll have piping hot, tender squirrel in gravy waiting for you.
4 squirrels, skinned and cleaned
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 can cream of chicken soup
2 cups water
1 onion, chopped
1 carton mushrooms, chopped
salt and pepper
1 cup rice, cooked
Cover the squirrels with water in a saucepan over high heat, boil for about thirty minutes, or until the meat can easily be taken off the bone after it’s cooled.
Debone squirrels. In the Crock-Pot, combine meat, canned soups, chopped onion and mushrooms, water, salt and pepper. Set on low for 8 to 10 hours.
Serve over cooked rice and you have a delicious, rich, hearty squirrel stew ready to serve when you get home from facing that bitter winter.
