Remember This 327-Pound, 8-Foot Alligator Gar?

When it comes to crazy alligator gar stories, this is one that seems to keep popping up.

Back in 2011 this gnarly photo of a monster alligator gar started turning up all over the web. Many were calling this monster fish a modern day dinosaur! To be honest, that isn't too far from the truth at all.

A report from Fox News revealed the monster gar was measured to be over 8 feet in length and weighed in at an unbelievable 327 pounds. For this fish to reach this size it is estimated to be anywhere from 50-70 years old. With double rows of razor sharp teeth and a big appetite, these fish have the potential to be extremely dangerous.

Kenny Williams, the angler that landed this monster fish, told the local TV station that he used nets to land the fish. The big problem Kenny faced was being all alone in his aluminum boat and having no-one to help him bring the monster fish aboard.

"At first I didn't think he was that big. But as I was getting him into the boat, it was like, 'How big is this thing?' It was a lot of effort just to get him into the boat," Williams said. "I don't even know how to describe it. It was just huge and hard to get into the boat."

Having no choice, Kenny reach down and grabbed the fish by the gills. He then managed to pull it into the boat all while staring at a nasty mouthful of razor sharp teeth! Crazy!

Officials with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks (MDWFP) stated that Kenny's fish could possibly be the largest alligator gar ever caught. It is certainly the largest record to ever come out of Mississippi.

Anglers, this is just one more reason to get outdoors on Valentine's Day.
