The new Salvo 12 from SilencerCO is the world’s first commercially viable shotgun suppressor.
Unlike other hunting and sport shooting firearms, shotguns have never had a legal suppressor, until now.
“The Salvo 12 represents a revolution in silencers, not just an evolution,” said Joshua Waldron, SilencerCo CEO, according to Ammoland.com. “There is a huge installed base of shotgun hunters and shooters that has been waiting for a product like this for a long time, and we are proud to deliver it.”
You can see and hear how the Salvo 12 stands up in a clay shooting scenario in the video below.

The Salvo 12 is a 12-inch-long modular device that can be taken apart in sections to give shooters different amounts of noise suppression and balance, depending on the size of their shotguns.
The shotgun suppressor works with most shotguns that have a choked barrel. It attaches to the choked barrel’s existing threads via an adapter. Different adapters are available for most types of choked-barrel shotguns.
Once fully assembled, the shotgun suppressor can reduce the blast sound at the muzzle to 137 db, below OSHA’s 140 db safe-hearing level standard.
