The Only Thing Between These Bowhunters and a Charging Bear is Their Tiny Raft

A bear charges a group of bowhunters floating down a remote river in this hair-raising video.

Fred Eichler of Easton Bowhunting TV and his hunting party were traveling down a remote river by raft when they were charged by a huge mother grizzly bear.

The hunters had startled the mother’s cubs while rounding a bend in the river. Eichler tried to scare the cubs away, but he drew the attention of their mother.

Ready to defend her cubs, the huge grizzly charged into the river after the raft. With only eight feet between them, Eichler made a quick move to stop the momma grizz from coming any closer. Watch what he did.

Eichler is a highly accomplished bowhunter. In 2009, he became the first bowhunter to complete the North American Super Slam by taking all 29 species of big game animals with a recurve bow.
