You won’t believe your taste buds when you chomp into these barbecue bacon venison bites of awesomeness.
The barbecue bacon venison roll-up recipe is one of those recipes that taste unbelievable but are exceptionally easy to make. These are easy enough that anyone can make them with a little practice, and tasty enough that they would be welcome table fare at about any gathering.
- ground venison
- diced jalapeños
- shredded cheese
- onion powder
- garlic powder
- coarse salt
- fresh parsley
To get this recipe started, combine ample amounts of fresh chopped parsley, onion powder, garlic powder, and coarse salt to a mixing bowl full of ground venison. Use your hands and mix everything together. As far as the exact amount goes, just use your imagination to match your own tastes. I used about two tablespoons of onion and garlic powder, 1 tablespoon of coarse salt, and about a half cup of shredded parsley.
Next, layer about 5 to 6 strips of bacon on a sushi mat and spread the ground venison over top, evenly within an inch of the ends of bacon.
Spread an even amount of cheese over top of the venison, and finally, add a layer of jalapeños across the middle, as seen in the picture below.
Now comes the fun part. Use the sushi mat and roll everything into a nice tight log. Place this bacon venison log on a wire rack and stick it in the oven for 25 minutes at 350 degrees.
After 25 minutes of cooking, remove from the oven and heavily baste the entire outside of the bacon venison roll-up with your favorite barbecue sauce. Place it back in the oven for another 15 minutes.
Once finished, slice your barbecue bacon venison roll-up into bite sized slices and service with your favorite dipping sauce, or just another healthy portion of barbecue sauce. Enjoy!
