Bambi Bounces Around Boston, and the Story of the Southie Deer Comes to an End [VIDEO]

Like a fish out of water, a whitetail doe spent a couple of days perusing the streets of south Boston.

The streets of south Boston are not the first or even the fortieth place you would go looking for a whitetail doe, yet this past weekend residents of the storied New England community were in awe like a deer in the headlights. A lone doe found herself dodging Dodges and resting on patios over the course of her two day wanderlust.

The doe was eventually tranquilized and relocated to a nearby nature preserve in the Blue Hills.

Since wildlife of this kind hadn’t been seen in the area for some time, the deer created some significant buzz. Her presence in the urban sprawl even prompted a Twitter account, @southiedeer. Here are some highlights from the account’s timeline.
