Just when these otters were about to sit down at the family dock for a nice salmon dinner…wham, our national bird snatches it away from them.
When I think of otters, I think about the playful scamps that spend most of their time toying with the food they so easily caught. That’s probably true most of the time, but in this scenario, they were outwitted and left empty handed.

Judging by their reaction, I’m guessing they were relieved to not have been the final target of those talons. After their initial relief wore off, then they were probably cheesed at that eagle.
Easy come, easy go!
Eagles are opportunistic feeders and this was about as good an opportunity as any. What are the odds these otters never have a picnic on this dock again?
