‘I doubt it’s ever happened before, and I doubt it will ever happen again.’
Those are the words of Lee Bridges in East Missoula, Montana as she explains the bizarre case for why the power went out in her home.
Incredibly, a bald eagle dropped a baby deer right on a power line.

Unknowing that there was a dead baby fawn hanging from the power line outside her home, Lee Bridges was hoping to capture a few pictures of the bald eagle that had made a nest in a nearby tree. When she realized the power was out, she spoke with the power company crew that was already working to fix the problem.
When she inquired about the source of the problem, what the crew told her was unbelievable. She looked up to see a dead baby fawn hanging from the power line, and after she put two and two together, she realized what happened.
The chances that a bald eagle dropped a baby deer, or “its breakfast,” directly on the power line, and the fawn getting stuck on it, is extremely slim.
It’s definitely a sad sight to see, but a reminder of how brutal living in the wild can be for animals.
