Badlands’ third annual film festival was full of amazing films, great prizes, and better people.
Badlands Hunting Gear hosted their third annual film festival in Louisville, Kentucky this year. It was held at the historic Louisville Palace after the wind down of the second day of the ATA Show.
During the festival, various short films are shown and voted on by guests for trophies and some amazing prize packs. It’s a great way for show attendees to relax, enjoy a few drinks, and have some fun after a long day of representing their various companies.
Luckily, I was able to attend this year and was not disappointed with the quality of films or the creativity of their sometimes hilarious directors.
Upon entry, everyone was given a very nice grab bag full of cool items from various supporters of the festival. Mine had a Badlands belt buckle, Camp Chef flexible cutting board, a cool G5 broadhead holder, numerous decals, and more.
There was a crowd at the bar, and folks began heading into the theater to grab a seat for the films. Blake VanTussenbrook, Marketing Director for Badlands, and Josh Galt, from Sportsman Channel’s Southern Chaos, were our gracious hosts and award presenters for the evening.
The films were shown in two categories. The first were videos shot with whatever medium the creator preferred. The second however could only be shot with a GoPro camera, who were the main sponsors of this year’s show.
The short films all ranged from downright hilarious to a more serious vibe, and everything in between. All of them were incredibly well done and those involved put a lot of effort into them.
After the voting was done and trophies handed out, they ended the night by giving away some awesome prizes from the sponsors to attendees. Prizes ranged from Yeti Coolers to GoPro Cameras to a custom built Compound Bow from Prime.
Everything about the film festival was amazing, and the work the Badlands team put into making it happen was well worth it judging by the happy faces of the many in attendance.
If you ever get the chance to attend, don’t hesitate. It is guaranteed to be a good time.
