This badass triple amputee Marine was severely injured in Afghanistan, but isn’t letting that interfere with his love of the outdoors. What’s your excuse?
Todd Love enlisted in the United States Marine Corps when he graduated high school and deployed to Afghanistan’s Helmand Province in 2010. While he was there, he stepped on an improvised explosive device (IED). Todd survived the blast, but was severely injured and and lost both legs and part of his left arm.
However, he did not let let being a triple amputee stop him from living his life. He has displayed incredible grit and determination and goes shooting, skydiving, surfing, skiing, and competes in intense Spartan competitions.
That’s a pretty active lifestyle for anyone, especially a triple amputee missing both legs all the way up to the hips. Todd hasn’t let his injuries keep him back and gets outside and enjoys the outdoors at every opportunity.
If a triple amputee marine is able to live that kind of lifestyle, what’s your excuse for not getting out?

Even without the full use of both hands, Todd can still go shooting.
Todd doesn’t let the fact that he has no legs keep him from going hiking.
Going surfing while only having full use of one arm has got to be tough. Think of how strong his arm and core must be to do that.
A Spartan Competition is no joke, even for an able-bodied person. This guy must be in incredible shape to complete a Spartan Competition with the full use of only one limb.
This helps explain how Todd is strong enough to surf using just his arms.
Clearly there are few things that Todd can’t do.
