Backwater Fly Fishing

The Big Bastard baitfish fly is one you will want have in your box at all times!

The Big Bastard baitfish fly is a pattern I came up with for chasing big predatory fish in both fresh and saltwater. Largemouth bass, tarpon, snook, snapper, gator trout, and roosterfish all take and interest in this fly. If you are in need of a beefy baitfish pattern that pushes a ton of water, then look no further than this proven fishing catching dude!

To help you tie this fly at home, I put together the HD fly tying video below! If fly tying isn’t your thing, then check my selection of proven fly patterns at my online fly shop, www.backwaterflies.com.

Fly tying is something that I have long had a passion for. One of my favorite aspects of this fly is that is uses mostly natural materials to provide a big beefy fly that big fish love to chase down and eat. It can be tied in a variety of different color patterns to mimic both inshore and offshore species of baitfish.
