This baby girl was rescued after drifting nearly a mile off the Turkish coast while the parents sunbathed on the beach.
Last Friday, the Turkish coast guard rescued a 10-month-old girl who floated nearly a mile into the ocean in nothing more than a child’s inflatable tube.
Little Melda Ilgin drifted out deep into the Aegean Sea as her parents sunbathed, unaware of the events folding out before them. Several people on the beach attempted a rescue, but the dangerous currents and the extreme distance made it impossible to reach the child.
Fortunately, Melda is safe and sound; no word on any disciplinary actions for the parents.
Remember, never let your child out of your sight when in and around bodies of water.
