Baby Ducklings Adorably Drop From Their Nest for the First Time

Baby ducklings take a tumble as they leave their nest for the first time.

Did someone say "Cannonball?"

This cool video shows a group of ducklings following mama as they leave their nest for the very first time. The video goes to show how hardy these little guys can be. The ducklings are adorable, but some of those little buggers thump the ground pretty hard!

Mama leaves the nest first and the ducklings begin to follow around the 0:20 mark. For the next minute these little guys take turns doing Olympic style dives to the ground.

The video is provided by the guys over at Rock River Outdoors. Iowan Tanner Vogl has building wood duck nesting boxes for a few years. This year he set up cameras over some of the boxes and captured the cool footage. Footage inside the nest is also available here.
