This Aussie is Seriously Excited About Catching His First Giant Trevally

When this guy hooks on to a giant trevally, his reaction is priceless.

The giant trevally, or GT, is a large predatory fish found in the tropical waters of the Indo-Pacific region. Its large size and aggressive nature make it a favorite target for fishermen in these areas.

In this video a couple of Australian fishermen are working some huge jigs and hoping for a hookup with a giant trevally. When they finally get a fish on, their level of excitement goes through the roof.

Warning: These Aussies have filthy mouths.

Make no mistake about it, fishing for giant trevally is tough. The fish live near reefs and typically scoot out, grab your lure, and quickly return to the safety of their reef, cutting your line in the process.

If you want to be successful, you’ll need a stout rod and reel, heavy braided line, and a little bit of luck. You’ll also need to travel to a location that holds giant trevally. For most Americans, that means Hawaii, but that doesn’t really sound too bad does it?
