Anvil Shooting: Don’t Try This at Home! [VIDEO]

Anvil Shooting Don't Try This At Home

Check out this awesome video taken at a recent anvil shooting event.

If you’ve ever wanted to see what 500 pounds of steel looks like when it is shot up into the air, then this video of an anvil shooting event is perfect for you.

Also known as anvil firing, anvil shooting involves shooting an anvil up into the air using black powder. This practice was once especially common down south and was a popular substitute for fireworks for many years.

Does that look awesome or what?

Anvil shooting isn’t as common as it used to be, but there are still anvil shooting competitions and events that occur regularly all over the world, particularly in the USA.

Obviously, anvil shooting can be pretty dangerous if done improperly, so don’t try this at home!
