Beacon Hill, Massachusetts is considering reopening a hunting area that was banned for more than 100 years and anti-hunters aren’t happy.
Anti-hunting and hunting advocates collide on the discussion of opening a hunting area that has been closed for over a 100 years in Massachusetts.
Public officials believe there are too many deer in the area causing the decline of various other wildlife.
Anti-hunters strongly appose the idea of opening the Beacon Hill. One poster claims contraceptives for the deer is the answer rather than cruelty. Another poster claimed killing deer won’t stop lyme disease.
It appears the community is divided and all the facts aren’t yet laid out. DCR claims hiking will be permitted on hunting days, but discouraged for various safety reasons. Also the extra commotion could make it difficult and frustrating for hunters.
