Two anglers confront a fisherman who illegally bludgeons a muskie on the Detroit River.
While fishing on the Canadian side of the river, Mike Cowley and Dan Alexander witnessed and recorded Eddie Parent, a fisherman on another boat, catch and bludgeon a healthy 38-inch muskie before throwing it back into the water.
Alexander and Cowley are both avid muskie anglers. They confronted Parent with a camera rolling. In the footage, Parent brags to them that he has no remorse for killing the muskie and that they are (expletive) fish that eat good fish. When the anglers tell Parent his actions were illegal, he responds “So is smoking pot and everybody does that, dude.”
The Dude does not abide.

Parent spoke to the Windsor Star and offered a mea culpa on camera.
“I don’t know, I just blew up,” said Parent. “I don’t want this to look like I’m looking for some kind of a way out because I’m not. I deserve to be punished. It was the wrong thing to do because I made no effort to put that fish back in the water so that it would live. I didn’t think it was going to live anyway, but that makes no excuse for the way I handled putting the fish back into the water.”
