With the steelhead run just around the corner, this video should give you some motivation to be ready.
Growing up I heard lots of stories from my grandpa about fishing steelhead on the Olympic Peninsula where he grew up. I would sit and listen in wonder, wishing we had a good winter run in my home waters around Petersburg, Alaska. Maybe one day I’ll make it down, but for now, videos like this one will have to do.
The size and numbers of these steelhead are pretty impressive. With a few doubles and lots of single landings, the pink worm was the way to go for these fish. With fish ranging from big to small and from chrome to colored up, these fishermen had quite a trip on the waters of the Olympic Peninsula.
