A licensed trapper spotted an alligator rolling in the surf, and reeled it in with a fishing pole.
It seems like this alligator has been listening a little too much to the Beach Boys this weekend and headed out for some surfing time on Monday morning.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission crew showed up to an Amelia Island beach, near the Florida-Georgia line, after receiving a call of an alligator catching some waves. A licensed trapper was nearby, presumably on vacation, and helped them reel in the alligator using a fishing pole.
The gator was soon euthanized, and the meat and hide will be processed. The Florida Fish and Wildlife crew offered the trapper a license to keep the gator that he helped bring in.
