Allen Iverson Gets His Number Retired and… a Fishing Boat?

Did you know Allen Iverson was into fishing?

Former Philadelphia 76er Allen Iverson was honored by the team with an official uniform number retirement, as reported by NESN.com.

But the 76ers didn’t stop there, and awarded him a championship belt and a fishing boat dubbed “The Answer,” Iverson’s nickname during his 10-season stint in Philly.

The boat looks like a decked-out bass fishing vessel, with a trolling motor and impressive engine stamped with “Iverson.” The back of the hull features his jersey number and “The Answer” is stretched along the side.

Of all the unique gifts given to athletes at jersey retirements or Hall of Fame inductions, this has to be one of the coolest. We hadn’t heard about Iverson’s fishing affinity until now, but we’re hoping he is a big fan to be awarded with such a nice boat.
