A young buck careens through a storefront window, causing a chase inside the store.
2013 was the ‘Year of the Deer’, or so TIME Magazine as well as many others proclaimed, and in 2014 we continue to see instances of deer and wild game getting up close and personal with everyone – from UPS drivers to foxes meeting Russian anglers on the ice.
This poor little guy saw his reflection in the glass of a busy shopping center thrift store and decided to jump right in and join his brethren, or so thought Coe Sawyer, one of the store’s managers:
“He didn’t have a clue where he was… I think he saw his reflection in the window and thought it could be another buck and decided to jump through.”
The deer was inside and on the loose for about four minutes, and it took about ten minutes for the men in the store to wrangle the young buck. Judging by his size, one man commented that he looked to be about 8 – 8.5 months old.
The deer was released outside, and looked to be alright as he hopped off into the woods. Sawyer, who helped release the deer, later remarked to a reporter for AL.com,
“I’ve never experienced that before… It’s a story we will tell for a long time.”
