This Huge Spider in a Salad is the Most Australia Thing to Happen in 2016

Spiders show up in a bunch of unsettling places, but you probably would never expect to find a spider in a salad.

YouTuber James Perry got a little more than he bargained for in Australia recently when he found a spider in a salad. A pre-packaged, washed-and-ready salad, to be exact.

The Huntsman spider was just hanging out among the lettuce leaves and delicious Italian stylings.

The Huntsman spider is called so for its unusual hunting technique, which includes approaching prey in a cartwheel-like motion to confuse it. Doesn’t look like there’s much room in that bag for cartwheeling, huh?

While hardly dangerous to humans, a Huntsman spider in a salad is just something that not many would want to find. Anyone else a little skeeved out?

What do you do when you find a live animal inside your food that claims to be washed and ready to eat? Probably take it back to the store for a refund. Or flush it down the toilet. Or release it back to the wild, far away from your house.
