92-Year-Old WWII Vet with 1911 Scares off Axe-Wielding Robber

Inside Edition

As if we needed another reason to not mess with a WWII vet.

If you are an axe-wielding robber looking to take advantage of people who live alone in the middle of the day, be on notice. You see, there are people out there like 92-year-old Joe Milspa, a WWII vet, who is ready and waiting for you to just try and break into their house.

On January 31st, 2016, Milspa heard a noise in his living room at about 11:00 am. As he went to investigate the sound, he witnessed a man using an ax attempting to gain entry into his home through the front door. Seconds later, a front window was smashed and the axe-wielding intruder started crawling inside.

It was at this moment that Milspa took action. As you are about to see in this report from CBS Los Angeles, that robber is lucky to be alive.

“I could have shot him right in the head between the eyes. But I didn’t want to do that,” Milspa said as he described the moment he pulled the trigger of his 1911. “I would have been in trouble.”

As any responsible gun owner, Milspa still goes to the range and regularly practices with his gun.

If you happen to live in the Los Angeles area, the suspect is being described as a male between the ages of 20 to 30 with a dark complexion.

With a suspect list that includes half of all men in California, the odds of catching this guy are slim, however, if you do have information, please contact Deputy Rutigliano at the San Jacinto Police Department at (951) 654-2702.
