8-Year-Old Lands Monster 50+ Pound Mille Lacs Lake Muskie

Who doesn’t love a feel good fish story? Watch as this youngster lands the muskie of a lifetime, with his biggest fan, Dad, right by his side.

They say the muskie is a fish of 10,000 casts. If that’s the case, eight-year-old David Jacobson reached that pinnacle in November of 2013.

While trolling the muskie-rich Minnesota waters of Mille Lacs Lake with his dad, Erik, the young fishing protégé fought and landed a 57″ by 27″ brute of a fish, estimated to weigh 50+ pounds.

This highlight reel documenting the momentous catch is guaranteed to give you goose bumps.

Nothing like trumping your previous personal record by a whopping 10 inches – all at the age of eight!

Erik deserves Dad of Year. This is what great parenting is all about.

And our hats off to you, David. We can’t wait to see that smile of yours when you break the magical 60-inch mark.
