710-Pound Bluefin Tuna Caught with Rod and Reel in Newfoundland [VIDEO]

A father and son fishing off Conception Bay in Newfoundland, Canada, reeled in a 710-pound bluefin tuna after a two-hour fight.

23-year-old Greer Hunt Jr. reeled in his first bluefin tuna on Tuesday while fishing with his father in Conception Bay off the Atlantic Canadian coast.

The tuna officially weighed 710 pounds which can sell for up to $10,000.

That is one big fish to reel in with only a rod and reel.

The fight with the fish lasted two hours and Hunt Jr. can only say his arms and legs are going to be feeling it over the next few days.

“The fight is unreal, You’ll gain 100 – 200 yards and the fish will take it right back out, so its really a big battle — a tug of war.”

Greer Jr. and his father are the only anglers in Conception Bay allowed to fish for bluefin tuna in Newfoundland.

The tuna will be sold in to a buyer in Montreal for an undisclosed price.
