It takes a hearty angler to brave the cold and go ice fishing.

Sometimes, heading out to the frozen lake or river to go fishing just seems flat out crazy. Unless, of course, you’ve got a really good fishing shanty.

Some of the creatures that have been caught from under the ice might make an angler question ice fishing—and his or her sanity.

Here are seven of the strangest things caught on the ice.
