These seven fish are some of the deadliest and scariest fish in the world.
We won’t waste any time and dive right into the first on the list, the Goliath Tigerfish.
The Goliath Tigerfish can get up to 5 feet long and 150 poundss. This highly predatory fish is very fast, agile, aggressive has been documented attacking humans. Jeremy Wade of the series River Monsters has rated this fish “The Ultimate River Monster”

The Candiru is by no means the largest or the most venomous, but by legend is the most feared. The Candiru is a parasitic catfish and feeds on blood, usually attaching itself to the gills of fish and feeding there.
Legend says that the Candiru will run up the human urethra and well, cause a lot of pain. You be the judge when you watch this video from Animal Planets “River Monsters”.
The Stonefish, the most venomous fish in the world and a master of disguise they are usually undetectable when on a reef. Watch this video from Smarter Every Day of a Stonefish getting milked.
The Goliath Grouper is a fearless and inquisitive fish can reach sizes of 16′ and 790 lbs.
The main diet of this gargantuan fish are crustaceans, other fish, octopi, young sea turtles, sharks, and barracudas. They also make divers a little skittish sometimes as in this video: Goliath Grouper Attacks Spearfisherman and Steals His Catch [VIDEO]
The Angler Fish as hideous as it is does not pose a very large threat. It’s foraging grounds are usually on the bottom of the sea floor where it can blend in with the seaweed and reefs.
By using the first spine of its dorsal fin (which is the longest and usually has an irregular fleshy growth on the end called the Esca), it will wiggle this to lure its prey into range. The teeth on the Angler Fish are curved inward, letting fish move in but not out.
The Snakehead fish is at the top of its food chain with no natural predators in its habitat. It can actually move from lake to lake by crawling on land devouring the more desired fish in lakes and ponds with each stop. The Snakehead spawns several times a year laying up to 75,000 eggs each time. The Snakehead fish is an invasive and destructive species and it is illegal to own a live one in the United States.
Okay, so its only 6 that are deadly and scary. This is the most bizarre looking fish ever and rates among the ugliest.
The Blobfish is primarily a gelatinous mass with a density slightly less than water; this allows the fish to float above the sea floor without expending energy on swimming. Its relative lack of muscle is not a disadvantage, as it primarily swallows edible matter that floats in front of it such as deep-ocean crustaceans. Does the word ZIGGY mean anything?
