400-Pound Gator Has a New Home in Texas

ABC News

An 11-foot 400-pound Texas gator has a new place to call home.

A landowner near Groves, Texas called the owner of Gator Country preserve to report an aggressive alligator in a rural pond where children often swim.

Preserve owner Gary Saurage, took the 11-foot 400-pound beast to join about 400 more gators at the preserve in Beaumont, Texas. He was happy to give this giant a new home. Saurage estimates the healthy gator to be 35-40 years old.

Surprisingly, this giant male is not the biggest creature at Gator Country. Kong, the biggest at the preserve, is over 12 feet long.
