Seeing these baby beavers makes me want one of my own.
Flooding in East Texas has been very bad this year. Homes have been destroyed and whole areas have been evacuated. One home in particular had a few stragglers left over after everyone in the area had already left.
Luckily, a few good Samaritans happened upon these three baby beavers before it was too late or they too would have been lost in the flooding.
Per the story, volunteers from the Animal Rehabilitation Center in Flint, Texas found those three baby beavers when they estimated them to be just over one week old. From there, they were taken in, fed, handled, and loved into the shape that you just saw in that video.
Perhaps the best part of this great success story of wildlife rehabilitation is the names that the volunteers gave these beavers. The first one is named Chainsaw, followed by Buzz, and then Chopper.
Per the facilities plan, they will keep these beavers in their care for about two years. Upon that time, they will be released back into the wild strong and healthy enough to fully take care of themselves.
