One of the archery industry’s standard bearers has rolled out their newest models of the 2017 Hoyt Pro Defiant, the world’s number one compound bow platform.
Hoyt Archery has introduced the long awaited upgrade of its flagship Defiant Series. The new Pro Defiant comes with all of the expected Hoyt quality standards and a slight change to the body and colors, but it’s basically still the same great bow as before.
Check out this roll out video from Hoyt.
Both versions of the new model (Pro Defiant and Carbon Defiant) experienced slight changes in body style, but offers the same cutting edge technology.
Each model is required to undergo extensive testing that exceeds the industry standards.
Hoyt requires all of its bows to withstand a rigorous 1500 dry fire test. The test delivers 104 foot pounds of kinetic energy based on a draw weight of 80 pounds from a 30″ draw length.
One aspect that is not so noticeable is that the bows are slightly increased in weight. It’s a mere .2 ounces across the board. However, this weight increase is minimal and has no effect on accuracy or durability.
One big announcement is the addition of a new color called Buckskin. The brownish, earth tone color also comes with Buckskin risers with a Buckskin carbon weave limb system. There are a few camo patterns (Realtree Xtra, Realtree Mx-1, and Under Armour Ridge Reaper) plus black color schemes available as well.
One of Hoyt’s top-notch archers is John Dudley. You can check out his thoughts in this video.
If you’ve never checked out the Hoyt Defiant series, now is the perfect time. Once you shoot it, you may just find out that you, too, are Defiant.
