2 Carolina Catfishermen Win One for the Everyman

The Herald

While participating in big fishing tournament in Lake Wylie, two Carolina catfishermen made of with the catch of a lifetime.

Oftentimes fishing stories are exaggerated and lack physical evidence, but this one about two Carolina catfishermen has proof to back it up.

Watch this clip of the story two friends will be telling for decades to come.

The man telling the story was Preston Starkey of Rock Hill, and the less-than-nice boat used belonged to Jason Knight of Lancaster. With their combined efforts these two Carolina catfishermen were able to have one heck of a day on Lake Wylie.

According to reports they had ten poles in the water and Starkey told reporters, “Then one of the poles, it bent down to the water and Jason yelled out there was something big down there.”
The moral of this story can be summed up by the words of Starkey himself, “We’re just workin’ guys, who like to fish.”
