You’ve got to get a look at this giant Mississippi antlered doe.

When everything lines up and you get that one opportunity to take down an impressive buck, the nerves just rattle you to the core before you pull the trigger. One hunter in Mississippi got quite a shock when he went to collect his prize to find a giant antlered doe instead!

The hunter, who at this time remains anonymous, had his prize harvest ousted by the butcher shop he took it to for processing. As you can see below, they were also shocked!

Just so you know there’s no funny business going on, here’s the pic posted on the Southern Boyz Outdoors Facebook page showing the anatomy.

From Mama Manninos/Whitetail Butcher Shop
Well you never know what’s gonna show up at our Butcher Shop. This is a first for me in all my years of doing this. One of my good customers brought in a 16pt 185# DOE with horns in full velvet killed in Mississippi this morning.

Even though an antlered doe is rare, there are still more common than you might think. Some estimates think as many as 1 in 1000 does produce antlers.

Just think, that small buck you passed this year could have been a doe in hiding!
