10 Reasons to Consider a Teardrop Camper

With a teardrop camper, you can go anywhere at any time.

Sport show season is in full swing all across the country. Year in and year out, one of the biggest draws to these shows tend to be the campers. Recently, I found myself poking around a sport show in Indianapolis and fell completely enamored with a teardrop camper. For a guy like me, I don't need a lot when I hunt or fish. Generally, when I travel, I just need a place to stay. With a small tow-behind like a teardrop, it just makes sense.

With this in mind, I reached out to an old college buddy of mine, Joe Tyquiengco. Seeing as he is the owner of Tiny Camper Company, a modern camper company specializing in retro styled teardrops, he'd be an expert in the field. When we got down to it, I asked him to put together a list of the top ten reasons why somebody would want a tiny camper. Without surprise, he knocked it out of the park.

If you are on the fence already, get prepared to jump on over to the teardrop camper side of things. If you aren't sure where to begin, as you are about to see, Tiny Camper Company might be a good place to start.

All quotes are directly from Joe Tyquiengco, himself.

1. Easy Towing

"A teardrop camper can be towed by any vehicle. They are lightweight, ours start at 600 pounds and up to 980 pounds."

2. Security

"These campers (teardrops) are very secure to sleep in. They are also easy to stay out of the elements and get into a comfortable sleeping quarters."

3. Affordability

"Our campers are super affordable and won't break the budget, starting at $2,750.00."

4. Retro Appeal

Everyone seems to want the retro look when buying a camper. With Tiny Camper Company, that's what they do. "Our campers have the old retro look with modern touches," Joe said.

5. Moveability

"Tiny campers are easy to move around. Being so light, if you have trouble backing into the campsite, you can unhook and roll it in."

6. Vet Built

In a fashion that is unique to Tiny Camper Company, they support our troops.

"Our campers are " Vet Built ", meaning our local charity, Trailers 4 Troops, allows Vets to express their freedom and time by helping build a teardrop trailer, not only learning to do woodworking, but also being mentored by me." Joe said.

Micah Jones is the Trailers for Troops representative.

7. Great for Hunters and Fishermen

"Our campers are perfect for hunting, fishing, and being outdoors," Joe said.

This is one of the main reasons I'm looking at one myself. With the money I spend on hotels, this would pay for itself!

8. Charity Support

Just by checking out Tiny Camper Company's website, you can see that 10% of their sales go directly to various charities. It's got to make you feel good that by rewarding yourself, you are also helping others.

9. Built by Hand

Another nice aspect of working with a company like Tyquiengco's, each teardrop camper is built by hand. As a matter of fact, each one is hand crafted by Joe himself.

10. Go Anywhere

"Teardrops allow for much more aggressive adventuring than most camp trailers, as they will go just about anywhere your vehicle will," Joe said. "No need to stick to campgrounds, feel free to explore the backcountry without worry."

So what do you think? Can you think of any reason we might have left off that would make you want a teardrop camper? Like I wrote above, if you are in the market, Tiny Camper Company is one company with a big future. They have earned their reputation and if you give them a try, you won't be sorry.
